when m* contacted me about photographing her birth it was because she had seen this picture on my site:

little doula i like to call it "little doula" she fell in love with the picture. it reminded her of her little girl. she was excited at how special it was going to be having her 2nd baby at home with her daughter present. i have been asked many times about how children handle birth? how do they handle being around when their mom is in so much pain. well i can tell you they handle it amazingly well. as long as there is someone there to take care of their needs they are just fine.

m* told me that she labored fast when she had her first so i was prepared to run out the door the minute i got the call that it was the real deal.

she was so right about the fast labor! i just barely made it. i got to her house at 7:20pm and g* was born at 7:50pm. the midwife did not even get there on time!! luckily t* was there and she is a family friend, bradley teacher and had been training to be a midwife so she knew what to do.
